Ingredients:

  • 1lb - 93% Ground Beef

  • Chili Seasoning Packet

  • 1 large white onion

  • 4 cloves garlic

  • 1 can light red kidney beans (drained)

  • 1 can diced fire roasted tomatoes

  • 1 can tomato sauce

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1/8 cup bourbon

Toppings:

  • Louisiana 1928 Bourbon Barrel Aged Hot Sauce

  • Shredded Cheese

  • Sour Cream

  • Cilantro

Directions:

  1. In a medium sized pot, brown the ground beef.

  2. Halfway through browning, add onion and garlic to the beef.

  3. Add in chili seasoning, bourbon, water, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beans.

  4. Simmer for 20 minutes.

  5. Top with Louisiana 1928 Bourbon Barrel Aged Hot Sauce and your choice of cheese, sour cream, or cilantro.

  6. Enjoy alongside a glass of the bourbon used in the recipe!

Note: Given all of the strong flavors in this dish from the onion to the fire roasted tomatoes, the bourbon is not the star of the dish. It simply adds a nice flavor to the chili that you would notice if it wasn’t there. Try using a moderately priced bourbon around 90 proof to give this recipe that added kick!
