While the nose is on the sweet side, the palate hits with tons of fruit notes like raspberry jam, fig newton bars, and apricot. The finish brings the spice with lots of cinnamon, nutmeg, and toasted oak. All in all, this is a very well constructed pour and one I will be enjoying along with this beautiful spring weather. It is the right balance of sweet notes from the toasted wood with fruit notes from the well aged bourbons and I’m definitely a fan. If you’ve never been to @bourbon_classic then this is your chance to see what the night events are really about. The first night, Cocktail & Culinary Challenge, paired 18 local chefs with master bartenders from local distilleries to create a small plate and cocktail collaboration. At the end of the night, the awards are given for both people’s choice and judges choices. The second night, TASTE, starts with your choice of 1 of 6 “Bourbon University” classes followed by pre-event lobby libations. Once the event begins, there are over 35 distilleries represented with multiple offerings to taste through. There is also the option to add VIP tickets to both nights that provide additional small plates and speciality pours. I have been lucky enough to attend this event for the last 4 years and it is honestly one I look forward to every year. There is definitely something for everyone!
