Oak & Bond Bourbon Barrel Aged Coffee

Oak & Bond Barrel Aged Coffee

Oak & Bond Barrel Aged Coffee

The Basics:

Oak & Bond Coffee Co

Brazil Single Origin Coffee Beans - Medium Roast

9 Year Kentucky Bourbon Barrel

$25 MSRP

Nose:

Distinct bourbon aroma with roasted chestnuts and cocoa

Palate:

Velvety texture with a slight tartness coming from the lightly roasted coffee beans. Bourbon, lemon zest, and chocolate

Finish:

Balanced finish with hints of lemongrass, licorice, and more chocolate

Final Thoughts:

First off, the packaging on the Oak & Bond coffee is immaculate! A beautiful black canister, hand-written label, numbered bag, and a faux tax strip make you think of bourbon before you even brew the first cup. On the nose, the coffee screams Kentucky bourbon and roasted nuts. The palate follows through with a velvety smooth texture, bourbon, and citrus. Unlike some other barrel-aged coffees, the bourbon makes itself known with each sip without detracting from the overall quality of the actual coffee beans. While I wouldn’t necessarily start every day with a bourbon barrel-aged coffee (depends on how the week is going), this makes for the perfect weekend brew for any whiskey lover!
