Final Thoughts:

After two strong Barrell store picks from Lazy Day Liquors (a bourbon and a rye), their latest offering is a private release bourbon. This blend was designed with the team over at Barrell Craft Spirits using 5, 7, 10, and 17 year-old straight bourbons from KY, TN, and IN. As I have to come to expect from Barrell, this blend is both rich and full of flavor. Dark raspberry and molasses dominate the nose, followed by a pop of fruitiness and candied ginger on the palate. The whiskey lingers for a while with a nice balance of sweet rock candy and spicy black pepper in the back of your throat. Overall, this private release bourbon is another strong showing from Lazy day Liquors. The bourbon drinks much lower than 119+ proof, and combines both fruity and spicy notes throughout. Check this out while they still have some!
