The Midnight Silkie is part of Sliabh Liag Distiller's core lineup of Irish whiskies. It is a non-chill filtered blend of four single malts aged in sherry and virgin oak, imperial stout casks, red wine casks, and Oloroso sherry casks, along with a peated single malt aged in bourbon casks. As their smokiest blend of the Silkie line, the smoke does not overpower or overwhelm the palate. The peach note is prominent from start to finish along with sweet notes of honey that are balanced with the subtle saltiness throughout. With a price tag around the $45 mark, if you are a fan of mild peat, this is definitely one to add to the list.
